The **Messermeister Meridian Elite santoku** is a razor-sharp and practical kitchen knife. The santoku is a kitchen knife that originates from Japan. It is the Japanese version of the European chef's knife. This knife combines Japanese style with German robustness. Just like a chef's knife, you use the santoku to cut meat, fish and vegetables.

## Meridian Elite blade: hand polished

The knives are forged in the traditional way from one piece of German 1.4116 stainless steel. The steel is hardened to a hardness of around 58 HRC. As a result, the knife retains its sharpness for a long time when used correctly. Polishing a knife is where many manufacturers cut back to keep the knife affordable. That's where Messermeister excels with this collection. Each blade is polished by hand on a fabric wheel. This gives the knife the sharpest possible edge, so it's razor-sharp straight out of the box.

## Meridian Elite handle: extremely durable

The full-tang design and three rivets in the handle is one of the most sturdy construction methods for a knife. In addition, the handle is made from POM (polyoxymethylene). This is an extremely strong plastic that is highly resistant to moisture, heat and wear.

## Messermeister Meridian Elite: the definition of German tradition

Messermeister Meridian Elite kitchen knives are made in Solingen, Germany. These knives define the German tradition of knife making. The three rivets in the plastic handle and the full tang design are characteristic aspects of a kitchen knife from Solingen. Furthermore, the knives are manufactured according to techniques that are hundreds of years old. The same techniques that have made kitchen knives from Solingen so incredibly popular over the years.
