De beste keus om hard staal op te knappen. CPM- S35VN, Cruwear enz. Vrij snel schade bijwerken en daarna verder fijn afwerken. Had al een extra groffe gewone steen, maar dat is onvergelijkbaar met diamant. De prijs ook.

Erg effectief voor messen die echt bot zijn. Het subtraat is van metaal gemaakt waardoor het wat gewicht heeft in tegenstelling tot de oliestenen. Voordeel is dat je geen olie op de steen hoeft te gooien om hem effectief te laten werken, wat vooral bij zulke groffe stenen heel handig is; nadeel is dat het een zooitje maakt omdat het metaal niet in de steen gaat zitten.
